Exploring postures on the floor always brings me home to Bound Lotus where my legs are folded and I bring each arm behind the back to hold opposite toes. Energy flows from my fingers through my toes, up my legs into my heart, through my arms to my fingers... When I feel the continuous circuit of energy running through me in this posture I feel infinite. I feel free within myself. I am infinite. 🤍🌊🥨 • I usually start with a variety of hip and shoulder opening postures before Bound Lotus so that I am open enough to really stay and meditate in the position. You heard me! And the smaller, the better. Don't worry, I'm only talking about your goals here! We've all heard about long term goals and the way to achieve them is with short term goals. But what if even short term goals are hard to achieve? We aren't all born with the motivation of Tony Robbins, so how do we even attain our short term goals? Start small. Even better...start TINY!! And to make it even easier to achieve, link it to something else you already have to do. For example, you want to start working out but don't have the willpower for an entire workout session? Just do 1 single push up everytime you exit the washroom. You want to start flossing? After brushing your teeth at night, floss only 1 tooth. You want to start drinking more water? Take 1 sip of water before/after you take a sip of your coffee, soda, etc. Easy enough no? By linking your new habit to something you are already doing, you are not changing your entire routine to accomplish it, which is often an issue when trying to find the motivation to start something new. And by starting with something so small, it makes it easier to increase the amount of it without it seeming too overwhelming. Chances are you'll end up doing 2 push ups or flossing 3 teeth since you already started...why not keep going? I’ve mentioned several times the past few weeks about working on making healthy changes as I’m getting older. Today I’ve finally come to terms with making the biggest and least fun one, quitting smoking. I’ve been smoking for the majority of the past 15 years. Since 16! A child! I believe lasting physical transformation occurs when you understand that it also means you must transform your mind. I was having a conversation with someone the other day and they kept saying they can’t eat things that are “bad” (pizza, cheeseburgers, the good stuff! ) because then they would eat it continuously. The next day they would explain away their diet because they ate bad yesterday. I know that story, I am sure most of us here do. (THE GREAT EXCUSEAPADES! ) Saying food is bad is wrong. Food is not bad, the way we put the blame on food instead of ourselves is what is bad and sets you up to fail. If you blame the food you don’t have to address lack of self control, being accountable for your actions, or put in the work to change. You must transform your mind to transform your body. I’ve had “prep face” before but this is a whole new level and was a bit surprising to me. While I LOVE the look I have right now, one thing you all MUST realize is this is for STAGE. This is NOT lifestyle lean. As I get deeper and deeper into preps, I get asked hundreds of questions/advice about how I got to look this way and I keep having to repeat myself to people that this isn’t a sustainable physique. It’s NOT realistic to look like this all year round. I will absolutely give as much CAREFUL advice as I can but I always start the conversation with “I’m a bodybuilding competitor and this physique is not a realistic option unless you aspire to compete”. This also isn’t a lifestyle you can just jump into. A good, smart, health focused coach will NOT put you on stage until they feel you are HEALTHFULLY ready so be prepared for that. . Y’all being this lean is fun and I love love LOVE the way I look BUT I’m also hungry, moody, get fatigued quickly, look tired all the time (even though I’m not tired ) and most days, my motivation is NON-existent. And this is where you have to realize that you need more than motivation if you want to achieve your goals. You need #passion , #consistency , #discipline , #sacrifice , #willpower , #prayer . And this is what is destroying your relationship with food and your self-esteem. That was my exact thinking years ago because of my perfectionist, overly ambitious tendencies (which I am still working on in other areas of my life because it doesn’t just appear with food!🤪 ) It’s taken YEARS to remove myself out of the black and white and into the grey area. 𝙎𝙤, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙭𝙝𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙗𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛?
