| healing is not linear. You will always be on a journey but that doesn’t mean that there will be pain forever. • For example, with a broken leg there might be a couple steps that include getting a cast, resting, physio, slowly getting back into your normal activity and voilà your back to regular routine. • With mental health there will be highs and lows, bad episodes, days, weeks, and months of a low part of your journey. • So what can we do while we are on this journey? Well let’s begin by making some small goals. In order to be able to start doing any healing at all we need to build a foundation for ourselves. 🖤drinking water 🖤getting out of bed even if it’s to go to the bathroom and do a little 30 second stretch 🖤eating; can look different for everyone, maybe it’s just adding a smoothie instead of an extra coffee to your routine. Maybe it’s just trying to get something down to start creating hunger cues. 🖤sleeping, whether you can’t sleep at all or all you can do is sleep. Finding a goal that is reasonable for you. • You need to meet yourself where you are at. That is the most important thing. These foundational pieces, especially if they are things that have been long standing, are NOT GOING TO BE EASY. I know, I get it and it is not fun. 🧼Limpieza🧼 Hoy es domingo y toca día de limpieza 🧹. Y es que en una casa con dos niños 👶🏼 👦🏼 que se pasan el día arrastrándose por el suelo y un perro “aspirador” 🐶, la higiene es súper importante. Pero también lo es que los productos que se utilizan no sean perjudiciales para su salud. No te voy a decir que en casa 🏠 no entre absolutamente ningún tóxico porqué te mentiría, pero sí que estamos en proceso de cambiar muchas cosas, y una de ellas son los productos de limpieza. Hace tiempo que notamos cierta intolerancia a los limpiadores habituales del supermercado, que nos producen bastante malestar, así que desde que nos hemos pasado al multiusos Thieves hemos notado mucha mejoría y estoy convencida que a medida que sigamos substituyendo productos mejorarán muchas cosas más. Pueden parecer productos caros, pero no lo son para nada. Primero porque la salud no tiene precio, pero además son tan concentrados que duran muchísimo más que cualquier otro limpiador común. Yo he diluido la mitad de este atomizador con Thieves limpiador multiusos y la mitad de agua, y me va genial, así cunde muchísimo e incluso se puede diluir aún más. De aquí se va hacia la línea media, donde está la aponeurosis del oblicuo mayor (la cual se inserta en la apéndice xifoides y llega hasta la sínfisis pubiana ), se cruza con la aponeurosis del lado opuesto y forman la “línea alba”. Otra de las inserciones que tiene el oblicuo mayor es a nivel del borde anterior del hueso coxal en la ingle donde forma por medio de fibras aponeuróticas el arco crural o arco femoral (ligamento inguinal ). Lo inervan los nervios intercostales inferiores y abdominales. Actúa reprimiendo las costillas, los oblicuos flexionan el tronco y deprimen la pared abdominal. Cuando se inmoviliza el tórax, flexionan la pelvis sobre el raquis. Si uno de los músculos se contrae aisladamente, inclina el tronco hacia ese lado, dándole un movimiento de torsión. Mantiene el tronco recto cuando el brazo opuesto eleva una carga. Weekday Healthy Eating Rule No. 1: prep your veggies in advance! Why? You want to make sure to minimize the resistance (or excuses! ) to eating them over the course of the week, and having them prepped and ready to go is the best way of doing that. Make sure to not only stock up on veggies over the weekend, but to wash and cut everything. Then, store them in clear containers so when you open the fridge during the week, it’s impossible to miss all those lovely vegetables waiting to be eaten! It’s also never a bad idea to cook a large batch of greens and keep it handy, so if you’re really pressed for time, at least you’ll have a really easy way to get in some of the essentials. Plus, there are all sorts of FUN ways to use your cooked greens, believe it or not... but more on that later this week. If this sounds like a lot of work, then just start small at first. Two things in particular I always like to keep handy are some chopped salad greens (lettuce, kale, romaine ), and some cooked broccoli and spinach. Both are great because they can easily be paired with almost anything, and can round out a meal, while rounding out its nutritional value! . . All children are different and can have different food preferences. . Toddlerhood is challenging because it’s a period of change. There is so much neural development going on, and it manifests in some toddler as a picky phase around food. Sometimes the pickiness isn’t really about food but about behavioral change and developmental leaps. “Toddlerhood can be frustrating for parents because there is little consistency or guarantee of behavior.” . “Raising adventurous eaters is not an overnight thing. It’s a journey.” The journey can take a couple of years or a decade, depending on the child. The frustration comes from the expectation that it’s going to be a quick process. . How to make food more exciting? Turn to the spice cabinet first. Add more flavor. Dust broccoli with paprika and drizzle with avocado oil. “The more flavor we can give them and expose them to, the more open and expansive their palates are eventually going to become.” .
