We left the gym hangry today so we stopped at subway and idk if it was because I was so hungry or if it was because I crunched up Funyuns on top of this salad, but damn it was banging🤩⁣ ⁣ I got oven roasted chicken (I added extra for some more protein ), spinach, lettuce, banana peppers, onions, jalapeños, and shredded cheese. When you look back you shouldn’t see the same person you are today. If you do, it’s time for a change. And by change, I mean a better version of yourself. This last month has been chock full of changes. I’m grateful for each day. I’m also heavily relying on self care habits to anchor grounding amidst all the change. Fortunately the last several years of habit making has me comfortable in what I need to do to get where I need to be mentally and physically. Meal prep is easy, foods that fuel my body are easier than ever, workouts that I love are my go to. My favorite stress relievers are early morning workouts and epsom salt baths before bed. Other strategies include warm herbal tea and a good book break even for 10 minutes to get grounded. QUESTION: any good lower back stretches you can recommend? A mix of chronic pain and lifting a baby and exercising is making my lower back ache...especially when getting out of bed in the morning 😅 So this morning I woke up like 'nah', and decided to just do a recovery exercise later in the day. Sometimes you just have to throw your hair up in a messy bun and get it done. Lacking allllllll motivation today. But. The best part of pushing yourself and making yourself workout is the feeling afterwards. I don’t know about you but I always feel stronger, happier, calmer and accomplished after my workouts. And that right there is what keeps me going. Because let’s face it. Motivation is a myth when it comes to working out, in my opinion anyways. Yesterday was Transformation Tuesday, I am going to call this #realisticwednesday - it kind of works, right? This is me, right now. No make-up except for eyeliner leftover from yesterday and I am wearing my ratty college sweatshirt (I won’t tell you how old it is, okay 18 years old....wow, I am old. 😜 ). I am tired today after being in the urgent care with my son til about 10 pm last night. He is okay, thankfully! 🏥 But I have so much on my plate today to tackle. 👩‍💻 In the past I would have used the excuse that I had a rough night to brush off my workout today. But today, I am going to make time to squeeze it in because it makes me feel so free and refreshed to take time for myself. Even if that means my house may be a bit messier than I like or the laundry piles up. 🧺 I am done with excuses! This is not to say rest days and chores aren’t important, they are. But creating a stronger mindset for myself since starting @sweat has done wonders for my self worth and motivation. We can do hard things and I am working on overcoming little bits of adversity each day that would have previously ruined my whole day! 💪 Honestly, I am not even sure I have an end goal with my fitness journey. Yes, I’d like to shed baby weight and see myself get stronger, but those are merely outward things. The work I am doing on myself on the inside is what is really of importance to me. I can't believe I'm in week 30 of PWR at Home and sometimes I just have to remind myself how far I've come when I stop seeing the changes on the scale or with the measuring tape! These were my "go to" skirts last summer (less wrinkled ). I wore them all the time! I just put them on and wish I had taken pictures of my kids faces when they saw how loose they are now. I'm also really enjoying how PWR at Home 3.0 has increased the challenges so I push myself more! Additional reps initially had me like 😳 but after I complete them I'm so proud of myself! A late #transformationtuesday post and it’s dedicated to my favorite #sweat program 💦 I joined the #sweatcommunity this summer and @chontelduncan #fierceathome program has been a godsend during these unprecedented covid times! Staying at home on one end has been the responsible thing to do but has also resulted in physical, mental or emotional setbacks to many of us! During these times in addition to virtual human connection 👩‍💻, FAH 1.0 has become my outlet for dealing with stress or joy 😊 I really look forward to these workouts as over the last 9 weeks they have: - Given me a healthy routine - Made me stronger mentally - Pushed my body to greater limits - Given me the confidence that I can get physically stronger at home - Connected me with the best community and gotten me the best trainer I could have asked for! Never in my entire life have I been so consistent with a workout program 😅And it has positively impacted other aspects of my life like better nutrition, better relationships, self-love and more. I’ve thought a lot about what has been different this time? 💛 First, I love the exercise moves in FAH! 💛 I love the variety in the format everyday - AMRAPs challenge me, TABATA energizes me and the STRENGTH moves make me feel like a badass! 💛 Last but definitely not the least, @chontelduncan is of course inspiring but at the same time she is so relatable and approachable! And that’s what I love about her!! I started working out consistently, had a trainer in my pocket and spent time on me...it’s made me a better version of myself both physically and mentally. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ SWEAT has created programs for all of our workout needs. I have been lucky enough to train with @kelseywells , @chontelduncan , @kayla_itsines and @stephaniesanzo . Can’t wait to see what’s in store as I continue to use the @sweat app and they continue to add more and more to it⭐️💪🏻.
