Jess using wedges until we get her ankle mobility improved. We are working on dorsiflexion ROM, but at the same time, she can use the wedges to to squat with a more neutral spine and vertical torso, slowly moving down the wedges until she doesn’t need them anymore. 💪🏽LIFESTYLE CLIENT PROGRESS 💪🏽 (4 months between pics ) Not everyone has the aspirations to be a bodybuilder. I think that's great. How boring would life be, if we were all to be the same? Something important that we prioritize here at IMF, is that every one of our clients has unique and different goals. A good coach is one that is client-focused, and can offer objective guidance in accordance to how best to achieve what it is the CLIENT wants out of the process. What this can require, is the ability to separate personal experiences & biases from the evidence-based strategies that will best enable them to coach each client. It also requires the ability to really LISTEN (you'd be surprised how many coaches don't! ). Strong communication is an essential skill for a coach, and listening well is a big part of that. Happy Sunday! Hope everyone had a good weekend and got to enjoy the last bit of "summer" 🍂 . . With the drop in temperature and sun setting earlier than normal..I feel like I've been so drained lately ...mentally & physically. After some extra rest and relaxation this weekend (full of sleep and food ) I am wanting to improve my energy again & feel better mentally too! . . If you're also feeling the same lack of energy right now, here are some things that have helped me/things I am in the process of doing and may help you too to ease the fall blues🤎 _____ 🍂HYDRATE. Drink plenty of water. 🍂 TREAT YO SELF. Don't be afraid to give into cravings occasionally. 🍂 EATING GUILT. With all of the fall seasonal treats, remember you don't need to run a marathon after to allow your self to enjoy it. Savour the moment. 🍂 SLEEP. Get the right sleep for yourself 6-8 hours. 🍂 TAKE A VITAMIN. A vitamin deficiency is often a cause of fatique. I recently purchased a vitamin B12 spray to help me! 🍂 REDUCE CAFFIENE. Dehydration could also be a cause of energy loss. 🍂STAY ACTIVE. Excercise = endorphins which causes the feel good hormones! 🍂 HEALING FOODS. Eating plenty of vegetables can ease upset stomachs or digestive issues. 🍂 SEASONAL TRADITIONS. Get creative to recreate your favourite traditions for the season/time of year. 🍂 MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF. Is it safe for women to lift during pregnancy? Yes. Careful modulation of: ✔️Load ✔️Fatigue ✔️Technique ✔️and symptoms Is 🔑 to continuing to train during a normal, otherwise healthy pregnancy. The 2020 American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology report that continuing or commencing a properly progressed and modulated exercise or training program does not impose extra risk for miscarriage, low birth weight or other pregnancy complications and in fact improves outcomes by: 🙏Reducing the incidence of low back and pelvic pain 🙏Gestational Diabetes 🙏Excessive weight gain To name a few! Speak to your doctor, coach and physical therapist as soon as you find out your preggo to discuss your training!
