Squat day! 🏋🏼‍♂️ Drink bottle cam: 1x140kg Vik Ram cam: 3x7 115kg Crazy to think they I only starting doing back squats 11 months ago now. This also included 3 months of COVID lockdown. I’m very happy with the depth though! Out of the 3 big lifts, squats are the hardest for me as it puts a lot of pressure on my lung. I usually require 5 minutes to get my breathe back in between sets 😅

RPE measures exertion on a 1-10 scale, quantifying exertion based on repetitions in reserve (RIR ). E.g. an RPE 10 = 0 RIR, RPE 9 = 1 RIR, RPE 8 = 2 RIR and so on. RPE presents a few unique benefits for prescribing resistance training exercise intensity: 👉🏻Autoregulation based on daily preparedness 👉🏻Accounts for inter-individual responses to training 👉🏻Effective fatigue/stress management The scale can be used to prescribe intensity in a variety of ways, with the most common being a fixed intensity prescription based on RIR, e.g. 5 reps @RPE8 (2RIR ).
