It’s so natural that, since humans have existed, our body’s have built-in receptors to instinctively respond to these situations. The sudden surge of hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline readies us to fight or fly. Unfortunately, life was simpler then and many of the stressful situations we face in the current world wont be dealt with with a fight or flight response. Take work as a common cause of stress. You can’t run away from your job as you need it to make money to live, and you can’t just punch your boss in the face either. So that build up of tension and energy remains in your system with nowhere to go and adding to the stress. Exercise is a perfect way to channel that energy and use it for a positive outcome. It might not make the original problem go away, but it will calm you down, clear your mind and help you think rationally to solve it. Used purposefully, stress is an essential component in order to grow, whether that is a psychological mindset or even a physical muscle. Story Time 😊......I remember the first day I got back in the gym. I had oatmeal for breakfast along w/ strawberries, blueberries and honey. I knew what I use to do in college so I tried to go hard like I never stopped and next thing I know I’m in the public gym bathroom on the floor throwing up 🤮. I’ve never told anyone this story because I was embarrassed; like who did I think I was lol but one thing I did learned that day was I will never be out of shape again, I’m not going to quit again, I’m going to do what I have to do to be one of the best in this industry. I will make it to where I want to be....so the moral of the story is to never give up on yourself it’s ok to take a break or to re-think things through, just don’t quit on yourself and as you can see from the pics I haven’t ✊🏽. Trust your process!!!!

Want abs? Focus on your diet & nutrition! Visible abs come as a result of having a low enough body fat %. How to drop body fat? Get yourself in a calorie deficit. Either through reducing your food, exercising or even better - a mixture of both 🙌🏻 The best exercises to build your core are your compound movements. Yes that’s squats, deadlifts, rows, press. Do I sound contradictory by posting ‘ab circuits’? Not exactly. It’s not like directly targeting your core with specific ab exercises will have a reverse effect, it will help build your core. Howeverrrrr, spending hours in the gym doing endless amount of ab work will leave you pretty much disappointed and wondering why you still don’t have a six pack (believe me I was there, pretty frustrating 🙄 ) Compound exercises will engage your core, making it stronger. Your diet & how much of body fat you will drop will determine how visible your abs will be ✌🏻
