✨ 6 training mistakes holding you back [save for later]⁣ ⁣ I get it, you’re busting your ass in the gym (or in class ), but you STILL aren’t seeing progress. ⁣ ⁣ You do more. ⁣ You eat less. ⁣ You check your watch to make sure you burned 500+ calories. ⁣ Still, the scale isn’t budging. ⁣ What gives? ⁣ ⁣ Here’s a few common mistakes I see made all the time ⁣ ⁣ ❌Too many variables. ⁣ The best results come from doing the same thing over again, and oftentimes, programs last for months and even YEARS (I legit did the same program for like 3 years when I was powerlifting ). ⁣ ⁣ ❌You never rest. ⁣ The whole #nodaysoff hype is bullshit. That’s like saying to never take a day off work (hello, weekends? ). You need 1-2 days off from weight training each week for maximum results. Overtraining leads to poor recovery, fatigue and even injury. Give your body room to GROW and change. ⁣ ⁣ ❌You’re not EATING enough. ⁣ Can you drive a car without gas? No. I can’t say this enough, but 90% of people don’t fuel their bodies properly, and a lot of that is under eating. Just maintaining normal bodily functions requires 1,200 or so calories. If you’re training and trying to build muscle, double or triple that based on gender, age, dieting history, etc. YOU CANNOT BUILD MUSCLE IN A DAMN DEFICIT, YO. ⁣ ⁣ ❌Your goals are unrealistic (now ). ⁣ I’m not here to say you can’t achieve _____, but if you’re struggling to train 3x a week, you probably shouldn’t be training to compete as a bodybuilder. If you struggle with binge eating, you won’t succeed with weight loss. Getting from point A to D is possible, but let’s focus on the steps in between, starting with a solid foundation. ⁣ ⁣ ❌Self sabotage. ⁣ Are you trying to copy someone you idolize on IG? Your body is not their body. Your goals are not their goals. Stop sifting through the gram and comparing your fitness journey to someone who’s a ) been lifting + eating consistently for 20 years or b ) Mr./Mrs. Olympia.
