As I’ve become older (not necessarily wiser ) I’ve become a lot more in tune with my body. It’s helped me realised that some of the advice I was given in my late teens and early twenties around periods and contraception was flawed and contributed to longer term issues with hormones and keeping them in balance. Even more so when you throw in the complications of prescription meds for an inflammatory illness. Part of understanding what was going on with my own body was getting stuck into these two gems. Remember that I write this as someone who literally has 1000’s of hours of education behind me about how the human body works. These are the reason why I’ve gone on to train as kinesiology practitioner – a large part of our training focuses around hormones and how to balance them. These books are a game changer, if you are female and reading this you absolute need to get a copy of them and get stuck into them. If your male and reading this, understanding the long term effects of contraception on your partner’s body will do you no harm at all.
