This is not my idea of being masculine; is it yours? This is my idea of feeling powerful. Story time—I remember when the signs of working out and focusing on my nutrition, first started showing up on my body. I was leaning out just like I intended to and honestly feeling pretty darn good about the way I looked. I was achieving my goals, almost 4 years after baby #1 That’s when someone I knew, came up to me and told me I’d started looking like a man. I need to eat more and workout less, he said. I was in the best shape of my life and this person was attempting to take my power away from me. Did it make me feel bad? Absolutely! I was livid. I’d worked really hard and here was someone dissing my efforts. Thankfully, I didn’t believe him. Of course, I had a baby #2 after and had to hit restart to rebuild my energy and my regimen, to figure out what worked best for me after that. But here I am again, with bigger arms than then. And feeling POWERFUL! This time though, no one is taking my power away from me. This is a picture of me post workout, I’m sweating and my hair is a mess but those arms are certainly on point. Voel jij je soms weggevaagd door de onzekerheid van alles om je heen? 👉De meningen van anderen, COVID-19, de media, allemaal mooie foto’s op Instagram. Sjissel….I feel you🙏 Laten we COVID-19 er even uitpikken. Het lijkt alsof alles maar dan ook alles dit jaar om corona draait😏 Dat doet het ook voor een groot deel. Maar laten we even op onze kop gaan staan en de wereld van een andere kant bekijken🤸‍♀️ De simpele keuze om dit jaar alsnog van jou te maken💥 Want laten we even naar 31 december gaan. We pakken even de tijdmachine vooruit en daar zit je samen met je vrienden en/of familie. Iemand zegt wauw wat een bizar en bijzonder jaar he? 🙍‍♀️Je kijkt die persoon aan en check. Hoe wil jij je op dat moment voelen? Hoe wil je hierop reageren? Wil je reageren met inderdaad, corona heeft zo’n grote impact gehad! Of wil je reageren met “ja inderdaad zo’n ontzettend bijzonder jaar. Ik ben van onzeker naar super trots gegaan!!☀️☀️ Ik ben hier met jou aan het praten en besef me ineens dat mijn lichaam zo fijn en fit voelt. Ik leef echt! Ik voel me krachtiger dan ooit, weet onzekerheden te doorbreken, mijn negatieve emoties te beheersen en te leven naar wat ik belangrijk vind. Het was een te gek jaar🙏☀️” De emoties die je ervaart worden gevormd door de beslissingen die je neemt. Je hebt nu nog tijd om van dit jaar JOUW jaar te maken. De zondag, een heerlijk moment al zeg ik het zelf💞 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ren jij voor je gevoel de week uit? Of ren en huppel je de nieuwe week in? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ De zondagavond voelt voor mij al als een nieuwe week. Dit is het moment om alle voorbereidingen te doen om een hele goede week te hebben. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Het is voor mij het moment dat ik mijn bepaal wat er gedaan moet zijn en hoe ik mij wil voelen volgende week. Wat wil ik bereikt hebben? Dit kan zijn op zakelijk gebied maar ook natuurlijk privé. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Als eerste check ik of mijn datenight gepland staat en invulling heeft. Liefde staat bij mij op mijn allerhoogste prioriteitenlijstje - het is het mooiste in het leven en dus is dat de basis van mijn week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hierna kijk ik of mijn trainingen ingepland zijn, ik weet dat wanneer ik train de rest van de week mijzelf veel krachtiger voel en veel meer aankan. Het is de basis van mijn week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hierna plan ik mijn me-time in buiten de trainingen om, dit is de tijd dat ik nix moet van mezelf. Nu denk je, en je werk dan, al je Sunshines? Snap ik! Maar ik kan mijn Sunshines niet alles geven als ik mezelf niet eerst heel goed verzorg en voed met wat ik nodig heb. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Na mijn me-time (wat ik ook wel kruistijd noem, dit is letterlijk een kruis in mijn agenda waar ik nix plan en doe waar ik op dat moment zin in heb - zonder schermen! ) plan ik mijn werktijd in. Mijn blokken waarin ik trainingen geef, mijn feedback geef - yasss morgen is de hele dag feedback dag! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ De vrijdagavond is bijvoorbeeld voor vrienden, dat weten ze ook. Als ik met Paula wil afspreken is dat op de vrijdag (-: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Zo plan ik mijn hele week op de doelen die ik wil bereiken en hoe ik mij wil voelen. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ik ben benieuwd? Plan jij je week in op succes en om jezelf op de 1e plek te zetten? Of ga je de week in en kijk je op dat moment wat zich aanbied?

“YOU DONT HAVE TIME YOU MAKE TIME “ A term I always see loosely flung around by trainers with no actual help behind it. Statements like this Could do with a bit more context 🥴 Aw you make time ...problem solved lemme just pull a babysitter out my arse and make that time for the gym 🤣🌚 Now don’t get me wrong you do need to work out a plan when there’s a will there’s a way however as a personal trainer that’s something as a team we should be working together to help you with So if you a busy mum there’s no point in me saying make time with no actual sense of direction or problem solving skills Instead of that basic ass statement how about this Let’s work together to find ways we can make some time in your day to fit some physical activity into No babysitter ? Ok get the little ones out a walk and get your steps up Not got 30mins without the kids ...ok let’s break it down to 3 x 10 min sessions spread through the day or when your little one naps or even include them in the workouts it does set a great example for your children when they see you exercising 🙏🏽 Ok school run ...park further away and walk to collect your child or even consider cycling to school if that’s an option How about batch cooking healthy meals so that you can grab and go rather than grabbing quick fast food that’s high in calories What about putting snacks in sandwich bags such as different portions of fruit or yogurts things that will make your life easier and less time consuming over all What about setting an alarm and instead of checking social media in the morning dedicate some time to do a quick workout Write down your schedule and see where there’s gaps in your day to try and work towards your goals ! So yes finding ways to make time is important but just throwing that empty ass quote around won’t be any help to anyone so instead of stating the obvious work towards creating a solution 🙏🏽 Remember something is better than nothing when it comes to exercise ! If this is something you struggle with finding the time let me know and I will try and help based on my own personal experiences as a working mum of 2 💭

Offseason Leg-Update. . Nachdem die Beine in der letzten Wettkampfsaison gefühlt verschwunden sind, wird jetzt in der Offseason nochmal ordentlich Fleisch drauf gepackt. Man könnte zwar argumentieren das es verschwendete Energie ist für die Men’s Physique die Beine aufzubauen, aber womöglich gibt es ja auch andere Ziele 😉. . So oder so sollten die Beine nicht vernachlässigt werden. Zu einer kompletten Physique gehören sie schließlich dazu. Es gibt keinen Grund sie nicht zu trainieren. . Aktueller Fokus im Beintraining liegt auf dem Beinbizeps und den Waden. Die Quads und Glutes sind definitiv wesentlich dominanter und somit fehlt Das Gleichgewicht in der Gesamtoptik. Help!😱 Een kilo zwaarder tijdens je menstruatie en echt nergens zin in? En natuurlijk heb je wel ergens zin in! Want dat is chocolade, koolhydraten en heel veel anders lekker😬. Met de nadruk op veel en LEKKER🍫🍪🥮 Jij voelt je mega rot, want je hebt trek, de weegschaal blijft maar oplopen, jij maakt je zorgen en bleh, in trainen heb je al helemaal geen zin! HELP Paula!!!! I hear you!!🙏🙏🙏 Deze foto maakte ik op de dag van mijn grote uitbraak, ja heel heftig, ook ik heb die periodes! En ik weet hoe het voelt. Maar ik weet ook wat er in m'n lichaam gebeurd and how to deal with it!🙌☀️ Er is hoop! Ik begon aan mijn training en voelde het gelijk, sjissel geen kracht. Waar het denk ik bij vrouwen heel veel fout gaat is de ontwetendheid. Want zwaarder, hangerig en trek ervaren zou makkelijk kunnen leiden naar "laat maar, ik kan het niet, ik hou het niet vol en alles is verpest" gedachtes. Maar wat nou als ik je zeg dat; ☀️Het mega logisch is dat de weegschaal zwaarder is, het is puur extra vocht wat je tijdelijk in deze periode vasthoud ☀️Dat je letterlijk minder sterk bent in deze periode, it's ok! Tijdens deze training ben ik bij set 2 de stairmasters op gesprongen. It's oke!🙏 ☀️Je letterlijk meer trek ervaart en snakt naar koolhydraten. Schroef in deze dagen je eiwitten naar beneden en je koolhydraten omhoog. Probeer overall niet boven je caloriebehoefte te komen omdat dit o.a.s hetgeen is waar je op afvalt en aankomt over een lange periode. 👉En ja, je zal ook door de verhoudingingn tijdelijk aan te passen een hoger gewicht hebben. Koolhydraten bindt vocht. En nou en! Dan ben je tijdelijk even wat zwaarder op de weegschaal. Je lichaam is een heel proces aan het doorgaan. Wees mild naar haar toe en vertrouw erop dat na dag 3 je weer kracht gaat opbouwen en wauw! ✅Je gaat richting je ovulatie waar je op je sterkst bent! Je gewicht is niet je vetmassa! Zo denken vrouwen vaak. Wil je meer lezen over je menstruatie en de invloed op voeding en training? Ik heb er een blog over geschreven, zie LINK IN BIO! En ja, er zijn vrouwen die hier totaal geen last van hebben. Helaas behoor ik niet tot die groep. Jij?😘

What are you capable of? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I stop to think about why I started to get into fitness, it was mainly about looks. I wanted to look good, so I could feel confident in the clothes I wanted to wear so that I could have fun with my friends & not feel self conscious. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Over time, fitness has become so much more. Pushing past my own boundaries and limitations, overcoming challenges, and most importantly— consistently SHOWING UP for MYSELF has been the biggest reward. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Working out is my ME time. It’s when I give back to my body. It’s when I focus and give my body the movement & attention it craves and deserves. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fitness has taught me to respect myself. It’s taught me that confidence isn’t reserved for a handful of women.
