Gym selfies aren’t the most fun to look at. I know this. Whenever I would see a gym selfie, I would silently (and also not silently ) cheer that person on. I would also be triggered because of my own internal garbage. It was like two personalities were fighting for attention. I knew that other people not only wanted better, they were actually doing something about it. That was my trigger and my bitchy side rising to the surface. Today, I showed up. I didn’t show up to post something, I showed up because I feel better about myself and I know I’m doing something about changing my body. The amount of judgement I have when I see myself in photos and videos is next level kind of negative. However, when I am actively doing something about making change, I love myself more. To those of you who know exactly what I’m talking about, that feeling dissipates when action is taken. One foot in front of the other and silencing that BS story that tells you you’re too tired, too busy, too heavy, or too scared. If nothing else, come to the gym with me. I’m consumed with my own shit to even judge you.

Discipline over motivation 🔥 . Some people ask me how I always stay motivated.. Motivation does not lead me to stick to my routine. It’s more likely discipline and willpower, But for sure not always Motivation.. 🤷‍♀️ . Furthermore I do not always Stick to my Plan. I also have days going to the gym and leaving again after 2 sets cause I am not focused enough and just wanna stop. I do not Track every single bite I eat or every meal cause I know this will not ruin my progress and I am not in a Comp prep yet. . Consistency is key 🔑 . But most of the time I get things done cause I love and enjoy the process, I like tracking my macros cause it gives me further education on food and how my body responds to it. I love that satiating feeling after a heavy workout and smashing some PB’s. That Pump in my muscles and just feeling good. 💪 . If you have enough willpower to achieve something, you will take action, no matter how less motivated you might be on some days. . Compound lifts ⚡️ Are you doing compound lifts in your workouts? 👀 If not, you should be. These are exercises that target multiple muscles instead of just one❗️ Because of that, you can usually lift heavier in these movements over isolation movements. Incorporating compound lifts in your workouts first will maximize your workout. It’ll help you gain muscle & strength much more quickly. 💪🏼 Some examples of compound lifts: ~squats, hip thrusts, deadlifts, overhead press, chest press, bent over row You should start your workout with 1-2 compound lifts, and then you can move into isolation exercises. Always do these in the beginning so you can maximize the movements with your strength 👏🏼 Biggest mistake in people I see if that they try to build muscle (glutes especially ) is that they only do isolation exercises. Feeling extra as always when I somewhat intentionally match my mask with my outfit lol anyone else do that? 😂🙈 Started this weekend off with a upper body workout 💦 Not sure if it’s my endorphins full flowing right now but I am stoked for this new journey. All mental barriers that existed before COVID (gym related ) are now gone. I think it’s somewhat easy to fall into a comfort zone when it comes to anything, even fitness and a gym routine. We get used to what we CAN do and let that be where we end up. BUT no more comfort zones over here 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️ I’m ready to grow and push myself harder than ever before. Happy Friday Friends! . There is no one right way to achieve your goals. Just because someone is successful doesn’t mean you have to do exactly what they do to be successful. I’m a morning person so I wake up at 4am and this helps me accomplish more throughout the day. That doesn’t mean you have to be a morning person to succeed. If someone lost weight and was able to maintain it on a diet like keto it doesn’t mean that’s what you have to do to lose weight. Everyone is different. Don’t compare yourself to others.
