Here’s a real process over results kinda journey for everyone. Here I am doing Front Squats for 225x2 and 245x2. I used to hate this lift because of how awkward and uncomfortable it felt at first. Now it’s a staple in my routine for total body strength, stability, and body control. I was wrong.... You DON’T need to do JUST hip thrusts to grow your 🍑 These pictures are about 8 months apart. On the left I was still doing body building, and on the right is five months of CrossFit. Don’t get me wrong, I still love hip thrusts and I think that they are an important exercise to do, especially if you’re just starting out. Heck, I’ve developed an entire “Build a Butt” program and it revolves around the #hipthrust . When I came to @cavantv_ five months ago, I told him I was scared I was gonna lose all my gains 😅 But what I have experienced? Every day is leg day, and I’ve gained more size and muscle but I’ve burned body fat at the same time. It’s such a beautiful thing 🤩 I AM NOT SAYING that you need to drop what you’re doing and do CrossFit. I honestly think that starting with body building is a good foundation because you’re able to engage the right muscles and have an understanding of how the body works, which translates really well when you’re trying Crossfit. And when you WANT to try CrossFit, then you NEED to get a coach for that. Hands down. Oh and don’t think that you can just start doing hip thrusts and squats to grow your 🍑 without dialing in your nutrition first. My glutes really grew when I was bulking for four months last year (2700 calories and 350g of carbs 🤪 ) Not saying you have to bulk, but you need to make sure you’re eating enough and focusing on adequate amounts of protein as well as time under tension for those specific muscles. As for me.... I’m gonna continue to see how far I can get with CrossFit and I’m no longer worried about losing my peach 🍑😊 Oh and while I have you here.
