You get what you train for! What you work for! Sure thing. But make sure you work hard in the right direction. Make sure all your hard work are getting you there! Make sure your training and nutritional meal planning suits your current state and goal! How will you know? If your training program and nutritional meal plan suits you will have real measured results. You are getting leaner every week! You are getting stronger! The third component of yesterday’s skillmill station @alphafitclub —this fairly simple act of walking backwards DROPPED A FEW reminders that really can be applied to life, and are perfect for your Monday to prep for the week ahead— 👏🏻 Sometimes, we’ve gotta go in blind. We might not have all the facts, we might be quite literally leading from the back & do it anyway. Why? Because we’re CONFIDENT from having faced previous adversity. We can and we WILL do it again 👏🏻 it can be effective to STAY LOW. The lower we sat here, the more we burn the quads, as well as the glutes. Staying low to me means heads down, grinding it out, DOING THE WORK. Have fun, just do it later. 👏🏻 Be different, INTENTIONALLY. Is this tread explicitly designed for this exercise? Hell naw. Does that mean it doesn’t work? Again, no. My legs will tell you today that it most certainly does. When you walk different, you think different, you show up different. Make that your mo. Today didn’t go to plan. Was supposed to be first week in wraps at a big girl weight again and I was keen but I’m tired, I’m at the point of my cycle that drains me and even though sleeves felt amazing in my warmups, wraps did not feel good. At all. . Was supposed to be 2x5 at 145kg. . 1️⃣first set of 3. 2️⃣second set of 4 - @kaine_shephard thought I was going to make him do some work but I struggled through the last rep. 3️⃣third set of tempo at 112.5kg. . Sometimes the sessions don’t go to plan and in the past I would have been so upset but today, I barely even blinked. No anxiety. No distress. I’m a little annoyed but even that annoyance just fluttered away. . I’ll try again next week for squats and I’ll still show up tomorrow for bench and all my other sessions. . Pre workout meal, YAY or NAY? 👍🏼👎🏼 • What you eat before a workout fuels your exercise and what you eat after a workout is just as important🍏 • You’ll want to fuel it first with proper nutrition. I’m not talking about pre-workout supplements… I'm talking about REAL DELICIOUS snacks. The kind of foods that you enjoy and which you will enjoy even more when you know they're helping you reach your fitness goals! 🎉 • Of course what you eat after a workout is really important too. Indeed refueling after exercise gives your body what it needs to recover from the exertion and helps you build bigger, stronger muscles 💪🏼 • Here are some key points to remember for your PRE WORKOUT SNACK : 1. Timing is KEY 🔑 eat your pre-workout snack at the right time. The ideal time is 30mins to 3hours before your workout. You want to make sure you’re not still digesting your food when you hit the gym, but also that you haven’t already used up all those calories. I usually eat 1h-1h30 before my workout. 2. Drink LOOOOADS of H2O 💦 – yes that not so tasty liquid stuff is super important for your body. Make sure your body is hydrated at all times, not only when going to the gym. 3. CARBS !?! 🥯 Yes CARBS = ENERGY guys, it’s not rocket science. When we eat carbs, they break down into glucose, enter our muscle cells, and give us fuel to exercise at our maximum capacity. Your muscles store glucose in the form of glycogen and reach into these reserves when you're putting them to work. 4. Don’t forget PROTEIN 🍗 – In addition to carbs, it’s a good idea to add some protein to your snack too, especially if your weight training. When we do strength-training exercises such as lifting weights, we create small tears in our muscle fibers. When you rest, your body repairs those micro-tears, building up your muscles bigger and stronger than they were before—and it needs protein to do it 💪🏼 So YAY for preworkout snack for me, especially because I’m doing weight training and need the extra energy! ⚡️ How about you?
