This past weekend our gym had an “in-house” competition that I dabbled in 🙃 At first I thought I’d tackle it individually as I’ve never competed by myself before! But after the workouts were released I realized 3 out of 4 of them favored strength, and even though I’m continually building my strength I have a ways to go in order to compete solo, so I decided to partner with another member. Partnering with Alice @alicesherren_prigge was a GREAT decision - we balanced each other out on the workouts, motivated each other to keep going, and best of all had a ton of FUN!! ♥️😁 …Side note 👉🏼 Our gym @crossfitedenprairie did an incredible job of doing all.the.things. needed: masks were worn, all equipment was sanitized after each use, which is A LOT OF WORK, and we were spread out. Us members are very appreciative of all the efforts put forth to make this thing happen for us!! Thank you to all who volunteered, judged, and organized this sucker!! I miss playing sports, especially soccer. I miss being apart of a team. I miss creating and building comradery with teammates. I miss setting up plays to score. I miss working my ass off to WIN. But what’s cool is these competitions do all these things. It’s hard to describe but in a way I actually felt like an athlete on a team again. Everyone was cheering each other on, even those competing against each other. All the hard work we put in each week at the gym paid off for something. And we all wanted each other to do well! When the pandemic hit I shifted my focus to improving at CrossFit and it’s given me a different sense of purpose. We’ve all said 2020 looks and feels vastly different than we expected, but had this year not panned out the way it has, I wouldn’t have felt like an athlete apart of a team again. So now what? What happens next? You better believe I’ll continue to put in the work each week so that when that next competition rolls around I’m ready to go. Because I can’t wait to feel apart of a team again 👏🏼

IT’S A LONG GAME BUT REWARDING... Left was a picture taken of us when we was both 23 we had a bad relationship with food takeaways/eating out 2-3 times a week, not eating a balanced diet or tracking macros, a leisure center gym membership (obviously not used very often lol ) but we didn’t really see the problem until we wasn’t very happy with how we looked on holiday and just general well-being. Right is a different story two years later 25 now and we now have a great relationship with food eating foods we enjoy following a meal plan aswell tracking macros, we still eat out and have the occasional takeaway but everything is in moderation and ofcourse we now attend a very good gym and enjoy training the gym isnt a chore to us its a hobby and when you enjoy what you do and set yourself goals you’re only going to get results , I personally think we have only scratched the surface of what we can achieve because we are proud but never satisfied.
