Multi-faceted. ⁣⁣⁣ Here is my short answer: I built it. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ My long answer: ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I still get to make the same choices that you do. I still get to get my ass out of bed. I still get to choose to make the right choices to eat better . I still get to choose what exercises to do. Whether I should or shouldn’t push myself . ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ All choices. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ The difference in my “motivation” and yours is that with that choice is the discipline aspect. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I wish I could tell you that you will never have days that you don’t “feel” like working out. That you’ll always be ready to do it. I wish. Doesn’t exist. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I wish I could tell you that the cravings for sugar and unhealthy food go away after awhile. They are subdued , but they are still there. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I wish I could tell you that a hard workout doesn’t take grit and drive every once in a while, but that would be a lie. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ What keeps me motivated is every person that can no longer do it, I do it for them. To the amputees. I still have two legs. To the paralyzed, I’m not paralyzed. To the gone but never forgotten. They would ask that I do it. That I would go one more rep. I would keep pushing. I would go again. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Whenever I get “tired” I think of guys like @dakotameyer0317 or @marcusluttrell who never quit on themselves. So why should I quit ? I actually have that conversation with myself in my head. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I’m disciplined . That’s the secret to success in life. Along with fitness. It takes discipline to eat correctly . It’s takes consistent discipline to drink water. To sweat. To lift weights. To get the body that you want. It starts with daily decisions . That is how you build discipline. Earn the right to eat your carbs. The less you move, the less active you are the fewer calories should you get from carbs. Period. But if you are active like me, training everyday, most often twice a day, fasting for 1-3 days straight every week, not falling for some IF mild user-friendly shit being heavily promoted use good carbs sources, not sweets or candy but fruits and nuts that still have minerals and vitamins to be utilized during sugar metabolizm. Eating refined sugar, stripped from those components will force using your body's reserves. Anyone promoting IIFYM (if it fits your macros ) is a SOB (look it up in a slang dictionary if you have no clue what that means ). Building Muscle on a Ketogenic Diet ⁣ ⁣ I've heard a few people question if it's possible to build muscle on a ketogenic diet... ⁣ ⁣ Without a doubt in my mind, the answer is yes. For the first time in years of training, I'm able to steadily add lean muscle mass. No more bulking and cutting, causing unnecessary stress on my body. ⁣ ⁣ That said, I'm not claiming that it's the optimal diet to add as much muscle mass as possible in a short space of time. However, if you're not a serious bodybuilder or a professional athlete training in the anearobic training zone multiple times a day, I really don't believe you need more than around 100g of carbs a day to build lean muscle gradually. ⁣ ⁣ Personally I follow a Targeted Ketogenic Approach (TKD ), in which I consume 50g of carbs on non-training days where I'll just do some activate recovery like mobility. All these carbs will come from vegatables. ⁣ ⁣ On training days, I eat 100g of carbs. The usual 50g from vegatables plus an additional 50g. I'll eat 25g pre training to fuel the session and 25g post training post training to spike insulin and muscle growth. I'll still keep these carbs clean and as nutrient dense as possible, for example some raw honey and sweet potato. ⁣ ⁣ Eating a diet centered around high quality fat, protein and some carbs (when earned ), will ensure good cholesterol, branch chain amino acids (BCAAs ) and creatine levels are always high. This is a recipe for consistently adding lean muscle year round. ⁣ ⁣ Any questions drop them in the comments below and I’ll get back to you 🙏

Saturday 12 Sep 2020 :⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I usually go for egg whites with some little yellow bird hot sauce. I’m going to throw some whole eggs in there with a protein shake. Phormula-1 , CTC is my go to. If you are looking for a new protein, every single person that I have either sent a container to or has purchased it, has told me “it’s the best I’ve had. Wow. Thank you for the recommendation.” ⁣⁣ @1stphorm produces the best. ⁣⁣ Current eating lifestyle (fuck the word diet ): ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I am two days high carb and 5 days with 68 grams of carbs in total. My protein goal is 240-250 grams and the rest of my calories come from fat. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I track all my food. Everything that goes in. I spend time working out, why wouldn’t I?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You can never outwork a bad diet. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Today my legs are trashed from lifting legs on top of 30 miles on the bike yesterday . 🗣For anyone out there willing to listen, here is some very tough love....The only thing getting between you and the body and mindset that you want, is YOU! If you want to change, you need to take responsibility for your life. Stop blaming your genes, stop saying that you don’t have time, stop saying it’s hard to eat healthy, stop saying you don’t want to get bulky. Just stop it. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but there’s no magic pill, no thermogenic, no 7 day cleanse, no waist wrap, NOTHING, that is going to get you the results that most of you want. Big ‘ol yikes on today’s session. Felt beat up and tired. So at the start I told myself it was okay to back off and if I didn’t meet the time cap on my metcon... Half way through I looked at the clock and realized if I pushed a little harder, I’d be able to finish. So I said screw it, I can do this. I HAVE to do this. For me. Finished with :20sec to spare. Going one more doesn’t have to be dramatic. It doesn’t have to be huge life changing decisions. For me it’s the little things I do every day that push me to be a 1% better than I was yesterday. Crazy how much change you can make in just 30 days!!! Jumped in on @ryanfisch & @chalk .performance.training 30day “Earn your Carbs” Carb Cycling Challenge and it was just the spark I needed to offset the weight I had gained over the past year and a half #adultingishard 🙈 Just got to the point that knew it was time dial things in. I didn’t change my training or intensity and focused on hitting my numbers, drinking more water and eating way more protein. Despite eating in a deficit, I was never really hungry. There are many ways to lose weight and fuel your body but certainly enjoyed Ryan’s approach with this challenge. Osoby, które jedzą odpowiednią ilość węglowodanów, dopasowaną do swojego stanu zdrowia, z odpowiednimi odstępami czasu pomiędzy posiłkami, bez stałego dorzucania czegoś do swojego żołądka, regularnie uprawiając aktywność fizyczną, nie muszą się obawiać węglowodanów. Oczywiście też ważne są ich źródła ;p. Jest niewiele sytuacji kiedy proponuje ich niższą ilość. Przy padaczce, cukrzycy, złej tolerancji węgli,Io, czy niektórych nowotworach złośliwych zdarza się, że stosuje strategie low carb, lub nawet tymczasową dietę ketogeniczną. Ale nie zawsze. To co jest dla nas ważne, ludzików zdrowych lub mniej zdrowych, to by utrzymywać poziom cukru i insuliny na stałym poziomie, a każdy posiłek zawierający węglowodany (choć i co niektóre białka ), je z reguły podnoszą. Poziom insuliny spada, kiedy z naszej krwi zostanie odtransportowany cukier, wymaga to jednak trochę czasu. Dlatego ważne jest by odstęp między posiłkami był dłuższy niż 3-4h, a nawet czasem więcej (w zależności ile kto posiłków je i jak toleruje węgle, czy np nie wpada w hipki ). Jeśli ktoś ma zaburzoną gospodarkę glikemiczną niewinna cola zero między posiłkami może nam popsuć plany. Czasami dobrym rozwiązaniem jest ograniczenie podaży węglowodanów tylko do kilku posiłków, nie musimy ich spożywać w każdym, ilość tez może być dopasowana do planu dnia, np treningu(timing ). Choć akurat węgle w postaci warzyw proponuje jeść praktycznie do każdego posiłku, nawet do 8 szkl. dziennie. Tak, uważam że powiedzenie „earn your carbs” ma sens, prawda jest jednak taka, że w większości przypadków tycie zaczyna się kiedy ilość dostarczonej energii przekracza zapotrzebowanie na nią. A naddatek równie dobrze może być spowodowany i z tłuszczy.
