Goals are great, and we can attest some happiness to achieving them. However, we shouldn’t always assume what we become when we achieve those goals will make us happy, especially when those goals are body Comp related. If you achieved your goal of getting to 10% body fat, or squatting 200kg then good on you for showing the determination, persistence and consistency that requires. However, what happens if you don’t have the abs (that you wanted at 10% ) when you achieve that body fat? Or when you go on Instagram and see someone do a set of 10 with 300kg? That goal achievement isn’t going to fulfil you as much. This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t set goals, or be satisfied with achieving milestones. It’s to say that sometimes your goal isn’t going to fill your cup anywhere mere as much as you think it was going too and/or it might not have been as worthwhile for the sacrifices you made. Having a flat stomach might be cool for a day or two, until you realise that you’re still the same individual as when you had a not so flat stomach. #gym #training #motivation #health #fitness

🔴Update... Die Beamten mögen den Sonntag...heute kam endlich der ersehnte Anruf. Kriminalamt. "Frau Klartext, wir sind bereit fürs Detailprotokoll." Jo eh. Ich auch? Bin ich auch bereit? Für kurz war mein Tag dann auf jeden Fall gelaufen. Stimmung eher im unteren Bereich der Messlatte. Bis jetzt war ich ungeduldig. Wann wirds endlich so weit sein? Wann darf ich sprechen? Wann kommt da Fahrt auf? Wird es lange dauern? Ich war voller Tatendrang. Jetzt solls wirklich ernst werden und ich scheiss mir ein bisschen ins Höschen muss ich gestehen. Die Beamtin wieder super lieb und motiviert....DANKE an dieser Stelle!!! Aber mein Befinden ist sich noch nicht ganz im Klaren darüber wie es sich jetzt fühlen soll. Angst ist defintiv dabei. Sie darf da bleiben. Wir haben einen Vertrag. Die Angst und ich. ICH bin immer lauter und stärker, dafür darf sie bleiben - aber im Hintergrund. So gut geht. Sie würd jetzt nämlich gerne anfangen sich wichtig zu machen die liebe alte gute Angst. So kämpferisch ich auch bin....so gut kenne ich den Täter um zu wissen, dass er sich nichts gefallen lässt....die Angst vor Rache....die Angst die er mir schon in frühsten Kinderjahren eingepflanzt hat....die spür ich wieder im Hintergrund. So viele Jahre Therapie und so viel Geld....um sie loszuwerden....um mit ihr leben zu können. Jetzt hab ich aber "Gott" sei Dank schon einige Jahre Berfuserfahrung, viel und noch mehr Selbsterfahrung und eine Menge Freunde und Kollegen im Rücken.....was heißt, ich kann viel besser mit ihr umgehen. Anwesend ist sie. Wegzaubern kann ich sie nicht....aber was ich tun konnte, hab ich getan...ich hab mich sofort mit mir, der Kleinen in mir und unserer Angst in Verbindung gesetzt. Wir hatten ein paar klärende Gespräche und jetzt den Deal, dass sie bleiben darf, wenn sie sich leise verhält. UND....ich hab mir SOFORT professionelle Unterstützung geholt. Was heißt, ich selbst bin auch wieder in Beratung. Einfach um diesen ganzen schwierigen Prozess zu begleiten, mich immer sofort aufzufangen um nichts anstehen zu lassen.... ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

@kaizenclimbing last week, I’d like to chip in on this topic, along with the highly experienced physiotherapist Nina Tappin @climbing_physiotherapy . Most will be aware of the historical injuries that have been caused by intensive and repetitive full-crimping and this is why many of the new generation avoid this grip altogether. In fact, 9a+ has been achieved by climbers who don’t full-crimp, which begs the question – why bother? Firstly, if you hate full-crimping and have a demon half-crimp and open grip then you may not be missing out on much. A full-crimp may provide superior traction on tiny edges for some, subject to finger length and a few other anatomical factors but it’s a matter of micro-percentages. It may also be beneficial to train your grip through a full range of angles but this isn’t a massive game-changer. The overwhelming priority remains to train the half-crimp and open grips. However, if you’re keen to try full-crimping then there are 2 schools of thought on the approach, both which are valid. One is to do it on a hangboard in minimal doses, with lower loads than you would use for other grips, using a pulley-rig or stretch-band stirrup to lighten the load (intermediates ) and building up very slowly. The other is to introduce full-crimping when climbing but NOT when snatching for a tiny edge on a max-level boulder, but rather when you’re on easy and mid-grade terrain with your feet on and for limited durations. It’s a simple one – do too much/too hard/too soon with the full-crimp and you’re teasing the line. As always, there are lots of things we can train and the important thing is to focus on the priorities. Hey, look! A race happened! 🥳 Well it’s 2020, might as well jump into a half distance race 😝. 4th place for me, and I’m happy with the result (for now 😈 ). I’ve got so many people to thank for helping me get ready for this last minute. Thanks to @sherrod .jeff at @precisionbikefit for working with me and following up frequently to dial in the fit on a tri bike. My fierce competitors & friend @skyemoench for my forgotten items of long course race gear. Thanks to @triathlongold for helping me prepare for a half on two weeks notice. And especially to @foodwrench who was sherpa, chef, mechanic, chauffeur, and around-the-clock worker in helping me prepare. HOW TO MAKE A HABIT. Sooo you want to get fitter, become more organized, take your multi-vit, stop your houseplants becoming neglected idk, whatever it is you wanna do... And you start off strong and you’re killing it but then you fall off just as quickly and you just don’t understand why it won’t stick 🤷🏼‍♀️ The easiest way to stay on track is to make it a HABIT. Your life as you know it right now is basically a sum of habits, both good and bad. There are 4 steps in creating a good habit and I’ll descibe this using fitness as an example cos im a PT and all, kinda makes sense dunnit? 🤪 ✖️1. Make it OBVIOUS - set your intention. Create cues for yourself... Mark ‘I will go for a walk at 11am’ in your calendar, get your gym clothes out and ready etc. ✖️ 2. Make it ATTRACTIVE - Why would you go for a 5km run if you hate running and instead would rather be doing yoga? Do something that you know you’re going to enjoy. All movement is good movement! ✖️3. Make it EASY. Atleast in the beginning while the habit is being formed. If you want to be more active, start by walking for 10 mins every day. Then increase, or add something else in when you’ve mastered that. ✖️ 4. Make it SATISFYING. This is the most important aspect imo! This is the positive reinforcement part that makes you want to keep doing it over and over. This could be your stretching after a workout, the hot shower, the ticking it off in your calendar if you are a visual person. It does take a bit of time and effort to create a habit but breaking it down and creating a starting point is the first step, it becomes much less intimidating that way! 🤗 PS: I’m gonna try and break the habit of playing with my hair in every photo 😅
